In 1975, while building the Ben Franklin Hospital, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, Carl was introduced to the Free and Accepted Masons. In 1977, He began on the road to becoming a Free and Accepted Master Mason when he became a member of Lamberton Lodge # 476, Lancaster, PA where he received his 1st - 3rd degree. As a member of Lamberton Lodge he was active as worshipful master in 1984, and again in 1994. He was a member of the membership committee, a steward, a member of the Masonic Education Committee, was a representative to the Masonic Center Board, Chairman of the 125th Anniversary Banquet, member of the sick and visitation committee and member of the Charity Committee.
Also surviving are two daughters Carol Ann Disanto , New Holland, Debra L. Sload (G. David), Conestoga and a son, Carl S., Jr. (Pamela S.), Mount Joy.
